Week 4 rehearsal

Today was the 4th week of our rehearsals. In todays session we practiced Zombie a few more times so I could get the timing of the drum roll. After I got that down we went through Use somebody; Use somebody was a hard song to do on the drums but I still kept trying to get it down. At first I couldn't think of the drum beat and that is what put me off even more. After I found out what drum pattern would work, I went off and done some more individual practice; this improved the pattern although I still couldn't get the hang of it. We reflected on the mock performance to understand what needs to be done with the songs and how everyone needs individual practice to get the songs tightened up. This helped us improve the structure of the songs. In this week all of the bands that where performing had to create a stage plan and equipment list. The stage plan helped everyone be prepared for the performance because we knew exactly where everything was meant to be for the best quality and for best appearance for the stage. The equipment list helped us prepare the stage because with the equipment list, we knew exactly what equipment we needed. The piano was on the left of the stage, the bass was next to the piano, at the front of the stage was 2 vocal microphones, guitar was on the right hand stand of the stage and the drums were on top of the stage. this stage set work very well because no one was in the way of anyone, it made the performers look like a real ensemble and it wasn't crowded so it was Covid Friendly.
